Associated gas

Similar to coal mine and coal bed methane challenges, under the Global Greenhouse Gas (GGHG) Emissions monitoring scheme, all oil and gas producing countries have an inventory for the emissions produced by its actions.  Probably the largest contributor outside of agriculture (dairy farming in particular), the oil and gas sector contributes significantly, as the majority of its operations simply flare off the residue / byproduct gas at source.

The image below indicates the “hot spots” that are currently flaring associated gases, which with some gas conditioning, could be utilized as an alternative energy source.

At Ylem Energy, we have the expertise to understand the dynamics and composition of these difficult gases, enabling us to design an appropriate utilisation scheme, bespoke for the location.
