Ylem Energy, the leading flexible energy generation and storage specialist, has confirmed its membership of the trade association, Solar Energy UK which represents the entire solar and energy storage value chain.
With more than three decades of experience delivering smart energy generation and storage systems that reduce costs and support businesses’ carbon reduction goals, Ylem Energy’s partnership with Solar Energy UK is set to accelerate the delivery of solar deployment targets in the drive to achieve the UK’s legally binding commitments to tackle climate change.
Ian Gadsby, Ylem Energy managing director, said: “The UK’s energy system is changing, costs are rising and the pressure to decarbonise is increasing. We know that many businesses have considered onsite solar energy solutions in the past and dismissed them as too expensive. But the fact is, there has never been a better time to put the business case forward for onsite solar energy generation.
“Solar power is one of the UK’s most established carbon free energy solutions and Ylem Energy’s fully funded on-site solar energy generation systems are already playing a vital role helping businesses to cut carbon and reduce costs as well as supporting the drive to meet national net zero targets.
“I look forward to working closely with Solar Energy UK and helping to deliver the UK’s energy transition and a clean energy system.”
Cherry Parker, Solar Energy UK, head of business development and marketing, said: “I am delighted to welcome Ylem Energy as a member. Ylem’s commercial rooftop solar installation expertise and the company’s fully funded model via power purchase agreements is the perfect addition to our diverse range of solar specialist member companies.
“Ylem’s offering and plans for growth are set to play an important role in accelerating the delivery of our industry-wide, UK solar deployment target of 40GW of solar power by 2030. This medium-term goal is a key milestone on the journey towards achieving a net zero economy by 2050 and Solar Energy UK is committed to supporting the industry drive towards this at pace.
“We look forward to collaborating with Ylem over the coming months and years and achieving our essential clean energy targets together.”
Providing a risk-free solution through which businesses and large energy users can reduce costs and get to grips with carbon reduction targets, onsite solar energy generation systems can also be paired with complementary technologies such as battery storage or electric vehicles, maximising the power generated so that it can be used where and when it is needed most.
Ylem Energy can deal with all elements of new onsite solar energy generation projects, from site surveys to design and installation as well as discussions with network operators and planning applications.
